What does “refurbished” mean?

A refurbished product is one that has been expertly restored and tested by the manufacturer or qualified seller. Products are cleaned, repaired, and reconditioned to 100% functionality and then repackaged with original or new accessories.

How is Refurbished different from Used?

eBay Refurbished items are from quality-vetted sellers who adhere to our strict grading and service criteria. All Refurbished items are put through a multi-point inspection, and each purchase comes with a seller provided warranty. Used items may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but they are fully operational and function as intended. Review the full Item Condition definitions.

What is the difference between manufacturer refurbished, authorized-seller refurbished, and seller refurbished?

eBay Refurbished products are graded under Certified, Excellent, Very Good or Good condition tiers. Certified condition items can either come from the manufacturer/brand who originally made the item, or an authorised reseller who has a license or agreement with the manufacturer to sell their products. Excellent, Very Good, and Good condition items come from third-party sellers that eBay has vetted, monitors, and holds to strict standards. The “Seller Refurbished” item condition is not part of the official eBay Refurbished program, rather is a listing condition as defined by an individual seller. See seller's listing for full details.

How does the eBay Refurbished warranty work?

All sellers participating in eBay Refurbished program are required to provide a 12 month warranty with every item that is sold. Sellers will provide the warranty either through eBay Messages or within the parcel when your item arrives. If you need to make a warranty claim and are having difficulty accessing the warranty information, please contact the seller. You can do this by logging into your eBay account, navigate to Purchase history, select the item you wish to contact the seller about, under More actions, select Contact seller.
