Free selling is here!
Who’s eligible for free selling
We've made it free to sell for Australia-based sellers with up to $25,000 in sales in the past 12 months. This means that eligible sellers will pay no transaction fees when they sell items on eBay.com.au, across all categories.
So, for every item you sell, you’ll save up to 13.4% in variable fees and the $0.30 fixed order fee you used to pay on sales.
Free selling is not available to sellers with a Pro subscription (referred to as Pro sellers).

Here’s how much you save
Since you’re no longer paying the 13.4% variable fee and $0.30 fixed order fee, here’s what you’re saving*:
Previously, when you sold an item for $50, you paid $7 in transaction fees and took home $43.
With free selling, when your $50 item sells, you'll pay $0 in transaction fees and take home the full $50.

What’s changed?
Introducing Buyer Protection
From 12 May, your buyers benefit from protections, giving them more confidence and security when they shop. A fee will be added to your listings and paid by the buyer to eBay to support these protections.
Buyer Protection includes:
- 24/7 customer support: Chat with a real person any time of day
- Risk monitoring and fraud detection: We actively monitor marketplace activity to identify risk and potential fraud and take action to keep you protected
- Secure transactions: All payments are encrypted end-to-end and handled by our trusted payment partners
When listing your item, you'll see that a Buyer Protection fee will be added to the item price. You'll be able to review your item price, the Buyer Protection fee, and the total item price the buyer will see before completing your listing.
You may want to revise your item price on existing listings when Buyer Protection is introduced.

Get your funds faster
Sellers with limited sales history will be paid after successful delivery.
We’ve introduced clear criteria for faster payments. Your funds will typically become available within 48 hours of the buyer paying if you’ve:
- Completed at least 10 sales with a total of $150 or more within the last 5 years
- Had no more than 2 cases in the past 12 months (such as an unresolved buyer dispute or where eBay reviewed the case and found you responsible)
You can view your progress against this criteria in the Payments tab on My eBay or Seller Hub. Please note, there may be some cases in which funds are held for other reasons.
Access to advanced features
From 1 June, advanced selling features will become exclusive to sellers with a Pro subscription.
Advanced selling features include multi-quantity listings, listings with variations, volume pricing, third-party integrations, bulk listing tools, product research tools and more. Sellers without a Pro subscription will no longer be able to use these features, and:
- Any active multi-quantity listings will be reduced to single-quantity listings
- Any active listings using volume pricing will have the discount removed
- Any active multi-variation listing will be placed on hold
Buying labels on eBay
