This page provides important information about eBay balance and the terms that apply to its use.

About eBay balance

When you sell an item, your sales proceeds will be made available in your eBay balance after applicable fees or other amounts have been deducted.

You can use the funds in your eBay balance for eligible transactions on eBay.com.au. You can use them to shop, cover your selling needs, like offering free postage to your buyers or promoting your listings, or you can withdraw the amount to your Linked Financial Account when it works for you, subject to the applicable terms.

Who can use eBay balance?

From 3 November 2026, eBay balance is a required feature of the Free Selling experience (AU-based sellers with a registered account on eBay.com.au who sell less than $25,000 a year and don’t pay transaction fees).

If you enrol in or continue to participate in Free Selling, you will be required to have an eBay balance account, subject to eligibility requirements. You are not required to use your eBay balance to make purchases on eBay. You may withdraw funds from your eBay balance to your Linked Financial Account, subject to applicable holds and restrictions.

If you already have access to eBay balance and later move to a Pro plan, you’ll retain access to eBay balance.

Withdrawing your funds

Available funds can be withdrawn to your Linked Financial Account, subject to applicable holds and restrictions. Withdrawals are made on demand and must be requested through your eBay account.
