EBAY MARKETPLACE SAFETY

eBay Inc.'s global portfolio of businesses enables hundreds of millions of people to buy and sell online. eBay Inc. established a Criminal & Regulatory Investigations (CRI) team to promote the safe use of its platforms and to collaborate with local, federal and international law enforcement in apprehending and prosecuting criminals.

RESOURCES FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATIONS

Law enforcement officers and government agencies in Australia seeking assistance and records for investigations relating to eBay may contact the CRI team for assistance.

SAVE TIME IN YOUR INVESTIGATION

The following tips are for law enforcement agencies to assist in your investigation:

  • Use the search box at the top of the eBay homepage to search for active listings using search string or specific item number. You can then refine your results using the options on the left hand side.
  • Advanced search lets you search for completed listings.
  • Find a member lets you look up a username to see a member's profile and Feedback.
  • If you have an eBay account, you can save your searches.
  • eBay listings remain visible on the site for about 90 days after closing, searchable by specific item number.
