Member behaviour policies

One of the foundations of the eBay experience is the level of trust between all members of the eBay community. To maintain that trust, we expect all members to treat each other with respect.

Unsolicited idea submissions policy

We're always pleased to hear from our members, but find out why we consider unsolicited suggestions, ideas or proposals to be non-confidential and non-proprietary.

Threats and offensive language policy

We have zero tolerance for members using language that we consider to be defamatory or abusive.

Spam policy

We don't allow spam on eBay. Sellers may only send marketing emails to other members using eBay Store newsletters.

Member-to-member contact policy

We encourage open communication between our members through our site but we have rules in place for how contact can be made and messages can be sent.

We generally don't allow members to publish or display user contact information on eBay.

Violation of the eBay User Agreement policy

To help us maintain a fair and safe marketplace, all users must comply with our User Agreement and all other site policies.

Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn't, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.
