Motors Site Redesign July 2006What has changed and why?Cleaner, simpler pages with less text and clearer Buying and Selling sections Increased prominence to Buying Tools and Safety Services such as Vehicle Purchase Protection Introduction of a regularly updated "What's New" section to the top of the left hand navigation column Drawing on feedback received from members over the last few months, the eBay Motors pages have been redesigned with the aim of making them cleaner, simpler and easier to navigate. Some of your suggestions have included making the pages less text heavy, more like the US Motors pages, and easy to find information about buying and selling vehicles on eBay Motors. We hope we have moved some way towards achieving these objectives. Of course, not all suggestions have been implemented and not everybody will be 100% happy with these changes. For those with constructive suggestions, we encourage you to post to the Motors discussion board or to send us your feedback at aucategory@ebay.com. Please find below 3 commonly asked questions regarding the site redesign. Commonly Asked QuestionsQ1: Why has eBay decided to redesign these pages?A1: The last time the eBay Motors Australia pages were redesigned was in March 2005 and a year is a long time on the Internet! Since then, we have introduced new safety features such as Vehicle Purchase Protection, new categories such as Pocket Bikes, and the number of monthly visitors to eBay Motors has gone through the roof (nearly a million visitors in April 2006!). Therefore, in order to clearly present the new features and simplify the navigation for our new visitors, we have drawn on member feedback over the last few months for this redesign. Q2: Can I switch back to the old Motors pages? A2: We think that the new pages are cleaner and easier to navigate once you get used to them. Please leave constructive suggestions on the new pages by posting to the Motors discussion board or send us your feedback at aucategory@ebay.com, but there are currently no plans to roll back to the old pages. Q3: Why can't I find a particular category from the Motors homepage anymore? A3: All categories are still there and are accessible by clicking "See all Motors categories" at the bottom of the left hand navigation bar. In an effort to simplify the Motors homepage, only the most popular categories are included here but all categories are still available. |
