The first time you run the program

When you start Mister Lister Composer, you'll see a welcome screen with a brief introduction. Next, fill out the simple form. Enter the following information:

• eBay registered email address
• Password
• City
• State, Postcode, Country

By doing this now you won't have to enter the same data every time you add an item to a collection or send collections to eBay.

How to add items to a collection

1. Start a new collection by clicking "File" on the menu and then select "New Collection."
2. On the bottom of that window, click the button that says "Add Item."
3. Enter information into the form. Use "Tab" and "Shift+Tab" to move between fields.
4. To complete the entry for one item and begin another item, click "Next Item."
5. Once all items are entered, click "Finish."

Tip: You can have many collections open at once (this is similar to keeping more than one Word document open at one time).

How to edit or delete items in a collection

To edit an item:

1. Find the collection window (To open saved collections, click on "File" on the menu, then select "Open Collection."
2. A quick list of your items will appear in that collection with partial information about each one.
3. If you want to make changes to an item, select the item in the list by clicking on it.
4. Press the "Edit" button at the bottom of the collection window (double clicking on the item in the list will also work). This will open the item and allow you to edit its information.
5. When editing is complete, click "Finish."

To delete an item:

1. Select the item by clicking on it (or select multiple items).
2. Click the "Delete" button at the bottom of the collection window (using the DELETE key on the keyboard will also work.).

How to save and open a collection

To save a collection:

1. Go to the "File" menu and choose "Save Collection," OR click the "Save" icon on the toolbar. Note: If the collection has not already been saved, the computer will ask for a file name.
2. After doing so, click "Save."
3. If a collection has already been saved, it will write any changes to the disk.

To open a collection that has already been created:

Go to the "File" menu and select "Open Collection," OR click the "Open" icon on the toolbar. Tip: Before and after you add items to an existing collection, it is a good idea to save it.

How to send a collection to eBay

Once all your items have been added to a collection (there can be up to 100 items in a collection), the next step is to send the collection to eBay. Here's how:

1. Open the collection you want to send.
2. Click the "Send this Collection" button (located at the bottom of the collection window).
3. This brings up another window. If your member information was filled in at the beginning of the session, this window should be pre-filled with your email address and password. If not, an email address and password must be entered.
4. To send the collection, click the "Send" button. Be patient - it may take some time to transmit your collection to eBay. It is not necessary to hit the send button more than once.
5. You will be alerted when the transmission is complete.

Templates are built into Mister Lister Composer and are used whenever you want the same text in your item descriptions. For instance, if you always include "My items are guaranteed!" with the same payment and postage options, a template could be created so you don't have to enter this same information over and over again.

To create a template:

1. Go to the "Item" menu and select "New Template." Then the "Add Template" form will appear.
2. Add as much information as desired on this form. Anything that is added or selected will be reflected in the template. Once all the information is added, click "Finish." A prompt will appear: "Save as a Template?" Choose "Yes."
3. Now, you can use this template to add items to a collection. You can create as many templates as you wish.

To use a template with a new collection:

1. Go to the "Item" menu and select "New From Template."
2. Select the template you wish to use and click "Open."
3. The Add Item form will be pre-filled with data from the template. Add or modify the form to create a new item.
4. Click "Next Item" to begin another item with the same template, or click"Finish."
