When you list certain items in many categories, you can use product details and a stock photo from our catalogue in your listing.
Using product details from our catalogue is a good idea. Buyers are more likely to buy if they can see key product information immediately. Including details from our product catalogue in your listings creates a shopping experience that speeds the buyer's path from search to purchase.
When you select product details from the catalogue, be sure they're an exact match with what you're selling in your listing. If your item is used or refurbished, select the most accurate item condition and use the listing description to provide a detailed description of any wear or flaws. Include item details and photos that accurately depict the item condition.
Listing an item that's in our catalogue
When you create a new listing or relist an item, you'll be asked to select a product or category. The steps you'll take depend on how you're listing.
Listing or relisting a single item:
When creating a new listing or relisting an item, you're asked to select a product or category when you start your listing. You're also prompted to search for the product in the catalogue using item identifiers such as a Universal Product Code (UPC), a manufacturer's part number, Brand or manufacturer and model keywords. If the identifier matches a product in the catalogue, you're asked to select the product in the catalogue and the option to include product details and a stock photo for your listing.
Revising items using the bulk editing tool:Select the listings or templates you want to edit from the grid. You can edit or remove existing catalogue details, or add new information.
Once you have selected the items in the grid, select the Catalogue Product Details option from the Edit menu.
Edit the catalogue product information for each of the items or templates you have selected in the popup box that appears.
Move through your list of items using either save and next (to go to the next item) or save and previous (to move back to the previous item) buttons.
When you have edited and saved your last item, click the close button on the popup box.
Listing or revising items with Turbo Lister:Under Details, search for items in the catalogue by entering an identifier like an ISBN, an UPC, or a keyword.
Making sure you choose the right product
When you use the product catalogue, it's important to make sure you're choosing the right item so you don't accidentally mislead buyers. If our catalogue doesn't have an exact match for the item you're selling, don't use it. Here are some examples of ways you can (and can't) use our catalogue.

If you don't select an accurate product your item won't qualify for the value box on the product details page, which highlights lowest price deals from a Top-rated seller at the top of product pages.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
If the item is not available in the catalogue, select the Continue listing without a product
link and list your item as you normally would.
Reporting missing or wrong product details
Product details and stock pictures may be changed or removed from time to time. When significant changes occur, we'll let you know. However, eBay isn't responsible for this content because it's provided by other companies. Always confirm the accuracy of the information before listing your item.
If you find wrong or missing information (for example, the release year is incorrect), please report the mistake:
On the Create your listing page, click the
Report an Error link under the product details.
Enter the correct information.
Click the Submit
Report button.
Note: This option may not be available with some relisting forms.
The fine print
When you select product details from the catalogue, be sure they're an exact match with what you're selling in your listing. It's against our search and browse manipulation policy to use the product details for a product you aren't listing.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.
The catalogue product details don't cover item condition. Because item condition is one of the top purchasing criteria for eBay buyers, be sure to provide the item's condition using item specifics.
