Buyers can usually make up to three offers per item. Some categories may allow more or fewer offers. For example, eBay Motors listings allow up to 10 offers per item.
In categories where negotiation is a natural part of the buying process, you can send multiple offers for each item as well as counteroffer. When counteroffer is available, you will see messages letting you know to “Make another offer” or “Make a counteroffer”..You will receive a notification when you are about to make your last available Best Offer.
Note: We encourage buyers in categories where the offer limit is one, to make only their very best offers for the item. This is to more closely reflect the real world buying experience and to ensure that only serious, fair market offers are being generated for these items. Sellers can choose to ignore or bulk decline offers that are too low.
When a Best Offer is received, sellers will have the ability to see the number of offers remaining per buyer for their item in My eBay.
To access offers:
Login to eBay with your User ID and Password.
Click the My eBay button at the top of any eBay page.
Under My eBay Views, click the “Selling” link.
Click the “# of Offers” link in the Items I’m Selling view.
The Offer Management page displays.
Look in the Offers remaining column to see how many offers remain for that buyer.
For items listed in categories which have a higher limit on the number of Best Offers (per buyer), you may reject an offer and instruct the buyer to submit a new Best Offer with a revised price.
Note: Expired offers, declined offers and retracted offers all count against the offer limit per item for buyers.
Multi-quantity listings
Buyers can make a single offer for more than one item in a multi-quantity listing. For example, if you are selling four of an item and the Buy It Now price is $25 each, the buyer can make a Best Offer for all four items at $80.
What if the buyer makes an offer and the quantity is not available?
When a buyer submits a Best Offer, a check is conducted to make sure the quantity requested by the buyer is available. However, since offers are good for 48 hours, there is a chance that the offer might exceed the quantity remaining. In that case, the seller will be informed when attempting to accept an offer that they must decline for lack of inventory.
