The Get It Fast program gives buyers added confidence that an item will arrive quickly. Participating in the program is a great way to increase your sales of seasonal and gift items. Buyers can search specifically for Get It Fast items.
To participate in the program, select the “Get It Fast” check box in the Postage section of the Sell Your Item form when you list an item. By designating your item as a Get It Fast item, you commit to do the following:
Offer at least one domestic expedited postage service. On the Sell Your Item form, add an expedited service (such as Express or Courier) to the list of domestic postage services that you offer. You can still offer other postage services, including other expedited services.
Post the item within one business day of receiving cleared payment. On the Sell Your Item form, select “1 business day” from the pull-down menu for “Domestic handling time.”
You should also offer buyers a quick and safe payment method, such as PayPal. If you do offer PayPal, you may also want to use the “Require immediate payment” option. This will further encourage the buyer to complete their payment right away and enable you to post the item sooner.
Important: By selecting the Get It Fast option, you are committing to post the item within one business day of receiving a cleared payment, even if the buyer does not select an expedited postage service. You should take this commitment seriously to avoid receiving negative feedback from buyers.
Estimated delivery date
Get It Fast listings display an estimated delivery date (for example, “as soon as 6 September”) to let buyers know how soon they can receive the item if they pay right away and select the fastest postage service. The estimated delivery date is calculated by taking the current date, adding your domestic handling time (1 businesss day), and then adding the delivery time of the fastest postagepostage service you offer (for example, 1 business day for Express postage). Estimated delivery times are also shown for other postage services that you offer.
Example
The following example illustrates how the Get It Fast program works. (The example assumes that December 20 through 23 are all business days.)
On 20 December, you list an item with a Buy It Now price and select the Get It Fast option. You specify that your domestic handling time is 1 business day, and you offer Express as one of your postage services. You also offer PayPal as a payment method.
On 21 December, a buyer is looking for a last-minute Christmas gift and sees your listing. A message in the listing states that the buyer can receive the item “as soon as 23 December” under certain conditions. The buyer purchases the item using Buy It Now and pays right away with PayPal. The buyer selects Expressl as the postage service.
On 22 December, after confirming you’ve received the cleared payment, you post the item using Express postage.
On 23 December, the buyer receives the item—in time for Christmas—and leaves positive feedback for you. Notes:
A “cleared” payment means that the funds from the buyer’s payment have been deposited into your account.
“Business days” are normal weekdays. Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays do not count as business days.
The Get It Fast feature applies only as long as your item has a Buy It Now price. If you have an auction-style listing with a Buy It Now price, the Get It Fast logo and messages (as well as the Buy It Now price) disappear from your listing once the first bid is placed.
