Using the free Gallery picture

Adding a free Gallery picture to your listing

When buyers browse categories or search for items, they see items with Gallery pictures directly in search results. Your free Gallery picture increases your chances of a successful sale.

Include at least one picture in your listing. The first picture becomes your free Gallery picture. You can also add up to 11 more pictures to your listing for free.

Note: For auction-style listings, you can change your Gallery picture as long as your item has received no bids and at least 12 hours remain in your listing.

Using eBay picture hosting

We offer 3 types of picture uploaders. You can choose from:

  • Standard

  • Basic

  • Copy Web Files

Using self-hosted pictures

Type or paste the web address of your picture into the box provided on the listing form. Supported picture formats are JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and TIF.

Note: The recommended size for your source picture is 1,600 pixels or more on the longest side. eBay will automatically resize the source picture to create the different sizes displayed on eBay pages. Source pictures with smaller dimensions can be used, but may result in the resized pictures displaying with lower quality.

Gallery pictures are usually generated within minutes of being submitted, but may take up to several hours at peak times.

See the Listing Upgrade Fees section of the eBay.com.au Fees page for more information on the cost of Gallery listing upgrades.
