About final value fees
You're charged a final value fee if your item sells/ends with a winning bid. This fee applies to the final sale price of the listing whether or not you complete the sale with the buyer and excludes the postage amount.
Final value fees charged for selling on eBay vary based on the selling format, category, and features you select as well as whether you have a Store subscription and which Store you subscribe to.
What are the fees for different types of listings?
Here are some examples of final value fees for listings (all exclude postage):
Auction listings: The final value fee is based on the winning bid
Fixed Price listings: The final value fee is based on final sale price
Multiple Item Fixed Price listings: The final value fee is calculated per item sold and based on the final sale price of each item
Listings that have variations: The final value fee is calculated per item sold and based on the final sale price of each item
Classified Ads using the Best Offer feature: The final value fee is based on the final sale price agreed between the buyer and seller
Classified Ads listings (without Best Offer attached): There is no final value fee for classified listings as this format does not enable buyers and sellers to transact online through eBay
Reserve Price Auction listings: The final value fee is based on the winning bid. There is no final value fee charged if the reserve isn't met (Motors category only).
When am I not required to pay a final value fee?
You won't have to pay a final value fee if:
There's no bid on your item
No bids meet your reserve price in the case of a Reserve Price Auction
Your listing is a real estate non-binding listing.
