Generally when you list an item on eBay, you're charged an insertion fee. If the item sells, you're also charged a final value fee. The basic cost of selling an item is the insertion fee plus the final value fee.

The basic fee structure depends on the type of listing—auction-style or fixed price format—you use. Read more about seller fees.

Additionally you can add certain features to your listing to help boost the visibility of your listing.

All fees are in Australian dollars and apply to listings on eBay.com.au only. Fees vary depending on the site you list your item on.

Insertion fees

Insertion fees are the price eBay charges for listing your item for sale

• Charged to your seller account at the time of listing

• Non-refundable - even if your item does not sell

• If your listing ends without a winning buyer or results in an Unpaid Item (UPI), you may qualify for a credit by re-listing the item. If the item sells the second time, eBay will refund the insertion fee for the re-listing

Casual Seller Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for 30 free listings per month members must have a Registered Address in Australia, and must not be a PowerSeller, registered as a business or a Store subscriber. Listings must be single quantity and not fall within Excluded Categories.

Final Value Fees

Final value fees are charged only when your item has sold.

Additional Information

• If your seller account is suspended for any reason, any charges on your seller account immediately become due and payable. eBay reserves the right to charge your billing method for any amounts you haven't previously disputed.

• When you submit your listing, it might not appear immediately in a keyword or category search. This can take several hours. Therefore, eBay can't guarantee exact listing durations.

• Durations of longer than seven days may incur a fee and change some upgrade and insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal appears in the “Your fees so far” section at the bottom of the "Create your listing" form and again under “Review your listing."

• You can see your recent account activity for the last four months by viewing your Account status page.

• Fees apply to each listing you create. If you create identical listings -- listings with an identical title, listing format, and bidding activity -- only one will appear in search or browse results. To view all listings, buyers and bidders can click a link at the bottom of the search or browse results page.

• Fees pay for the right to sell on eBay. Sellers do not purchase exclusive rights to Web pages on eBay. eBay may, in our sole discretion, and without your consent or payment to you, place third-party advertisements on any Web page within our site.
