Changing Your Listing

The information that you can change in your listing depends on the time left before the listing ends and whether you have received any bids or sales. In most cases, you cannot change the listing format. For example, you cannot change from an auction-style listing to a Fixed Price listing. In addition, you are not permitted to change the duration of a listing. In addition, you are not permitted to extend the duration of a listing if two or more hours have passed since you submitted the listing.

If you cannot complete your listing as planned, you may be able to end your listing early.

Note: If there are 12 hours or less remaining, and the item has a winning bid, sellers can't end the listing early except to sell the item to the high bidder.

Removing a bid does not enable you to revise the listing.

To change your listing:

Click the My eBay button at the top of most eBay pages.
Under the My eBay Views column, click the "Selling" link. Your active listings are displayed.
For each listing you want to revise, click the drop-down arrow under the Action column, then click the "Revise" link.
On the Revise Your Listing page, make your changes. If the area you want to revise is highlighted in gray, you are no longer able to revise that section of the listing
Click the Save and Continue button.

Important: If you've listed or re-listed an item in the past few hours, or changed its title, your listing may not be immediately searchable when using a keyword or category search, until several hours after you've changed it. For more information see, How can I find my listing?

Adding PayPal to your Listings

You can easily add PayPal as a payment method on your listings, whichever listing method you used.

Revision Limitation Chart

The tables below specify the changes you can make depending on the type of listing, the time left before it ends, and if you have received any bids or sales.

Tip: If you want to revise your listing, but there are less than 12 hours left or there are bids for the item, you may need to end your listing early and relist it with your changes.

Auction-style listing

More than 12 hours	No	Revise any information except the format. In addition, or the duration cannot be extended if two or more hours have passed since the listing was submitted. Remove the following optional features only: Buy It Now, eBay Picture Services, Reserve Price, 10-day listing. Add optional features to increase your item's visibility (for example, bold). Add or change a Gallery picture. Add or change pictures using eBay Picture Services. Reduce the start price of your item. (You will not receive credit for the difference in your insertion fees.)
More than 12 hours	Yes	If your item has already received a bid/purchase or ends within 12 hours, you can only: Add a second category. Add to the item description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Add optional features to increase your item's visibility (for example, bold). Reduce the reserve price of your item. (You will not receive credit for the difference in your insertion fees.)
Less than 12 hours	No	Change the category and add Item Specifics. Add to the item description. Add optional features to increase your item's visibility (for example, bold). Add page view counters. Add or change a Gallery picture. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Add new payment methods and ship-to locations.
Less than 12 hours	Yes	Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold). Add or change a Gallery picture.

Fixed Price listing

Time left before the listing ends	Has an item from the listing been sold?	What you can revise
More than 12 hours	No	Change any information except the format. In addition, or the duration cannot be extended if two or more hours have passed since the listing was submitted. Remove optional features. Add or change Gallery picture. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Reduce the start price of your item. (You will not receive credit for the difference in your insertion fees.)
More than 12 hours	Yes	Add to item description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Add optional features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold).
Less than 12 hours	No	Add to item description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Add Item Specifics and gift services.
Less than 12 hours	Yes	Add optional seller features to increase your listing's visibility (for example, bold).

Store Inventory listing

Time left before the listing ends	Has an item from the listing been sold?	What you can revise
Anytime while listing is active	No	Change any information except the selling format. Remove optional features. Add or change Gallery picture. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Reduce the start price of your item. (You will not receive credit for the difference in your insertion fees.)
Anytime while listing is active	Yes	Revise price, quantity and Store category. Add or remove optional features. Add to the description. Add pictures using eBay Picture Services. Reduce the start price of your item. (You will not receive credit for the difference in your insertion fees.)

Classified Ad listing

You only can change categories for Classified Ad listings if the insertion fees are the same.
