Starting Price

Bidding will begin for your item with a starting price. For example, if you set a starting price of AU$9.99, the first bid must be at least AU$9.99.

  • In most cases, the starting price should not be the price you want the item to sell for. Instead, set a low starting price to encourage more bidding on your item.

  • To ensure your item does not sell below a certain price, you can also set a reserve price.(for certain categories only) This will enable you to set a low starting price.

eBay charges an Insertion Fee when you list an item for sale. The starting price (or reserve price, if you have one) determines the amount of your Insertion Fee.
