Using Flat Postage Rates

How it works

You specify the same fixed cost for all destinations, for each postage service that you offer. The cost will be shown in your listing and included automatically in the payment total when the winning buyer goes through the checkout process.

Note: If you don't see the option for "Flat: same cost to all buyers" specified, you can add this option to the form.

What you need to provide
  • Specify the postage services that you offer. You can offer up to three domestic and three international services.

  • Enter the rate you will charge for each postage service. Include packaging and handling fees (if you charge any) in the rates you enter.

  • If you have a multiple item listing, you can also enter a different rate for each additional item a buyer purchases.
Tips for determining the cost
  • Click the "Research rates and services" link. If you know the approximate weight and size of your packaged item, you can get an idea of what the costs will be for various postage services and destinations.

  • Search on eBay for items like yours and see what other sellers are charging to post the item. Use the "Completed listings" option to see what sellers charged for items that sold.
