Using Email Autotext

Personalise your messages to your buyers. Use Autotext in your email templates to automatically insert the buyer's name or the item URL or other variable text into the message body. The drop-down Autotext menu displays a list of variables that you can use to customize your buyer email.

To insert Autotext:

  1. From the Sold View, or Archived View click on a buyer's email address to access the Email Buyer page.

  2. Click the "edit template" link, and from the Template list, select the template you want to customise using Autotext.

  3. Place your cursor where you want to insert the Autotext entry.

  4. From the Autotext drop-down list, select variable you want to insert.

  5. Click the Insert button. The Autotext should display at the bottom of the message enclosed in {curly brackets}.

When you send the email or save the template, the {Autotext} will be replaced by the individual buyer's name or item number or whichever Autotext variable that you chose.
