The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is a unit of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The TGA carries out a range of assessment and monitoring activities to ensure therapeutic goods available in Australia are of an acceptable standard, with the aim of ensuring that the Australian community has access, within a reasonable time, to therapeutic advances.

Sellers that wish to list therapeutic goods on eBay Australia must include an "Aust-L" or "Aust R" number in the listing. These numbers are provided by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) when a good is included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). Any therapeutic goods (other than certain goods specifically exemptedin Therapeutic Goods Regulations) whaich are not included on the ARTG are not permitted to be advertised. This number should be located on the product label or alternatively can be obtained by accessing the ARTG website.
Only those indications or intended purposes accepted for inclusion on the ARTG for the products, may be advertised.
Any claims or indications made in listing must be true, valid and not misleading and should not lead to unsafe or inappropriate use of the product.
Any claims or indications made in relation to the therapeutic goods must be capable of substantiation.
Sellers must list all ingredients included in the item, subject of their listing, if appropriate, with their respective quantity or measurement.
Products must be labelled and packaged to a standard as accepted by the TGA.
