Humans, the human body, virtues or any human body parts are not permitted on eBay. Section 32 of the NSW Human Tissue Act expressly prohibits the trade in human tissue and this extends to skulls or skeletons even if the skulls or skeletons are to be used for medicinal or educational purposes. Items that contain human hair (such as lockets) as well as skulls and skeletons that are used for medical purposes may be listed on eBay.
eBay does not allow persons to offer or list human virtues such as their virginity or companionship on the Australian site. This extends to listings under which there is an offer for engagement in sexual activity on the receipt of payment or other financial advantage.
Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
Limits on account privileges
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Loss of PowerSeller status
Examples of prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
Sellers may not include such items as a gift, prize, or giveaway in connection with an item listed on eBay.
Why does eBay have this policy?
eBay urges its sellers and buyers to comply with all governmental regulations and laws. Since the sale of humans and human remains are prohibited by law, sellers may not list them on eBay.
