Tips for successful postage

These postage tips will help you post quickly and efficiently so that you can provide your buyers with a great eBay experience.

Offer free or discounted postage
Listings with free or multiple-item postage discounts encourage buyers to purchase additional items from you. Select the “Free postage” check box when you list your item for sale. When buyers search for items, they can sort results by price plus postage. Items with free postage or low postage costs will rank higher.
Tip: Offer free postage – if we can confirm a buyer did not pay for postage, you'll automatically receive a 5-star detailed seller rating for postage and handling charges, plus you'll attract new buyers, and your listing may receive more visibility in search.
If you’re an eBay Top Rated Seller and offer free postage on your listing, you may qualify for eBay Fast ‘N Free. Find out more.
Post quickly
Buyers typically want their items quickly, so the faster you can get your items posted, the happier your buyers will be. Consider offering either same business day or one business day handling, and tell your buyer when an item posted.
Make sure your postage rates are reasonable
If you’re not sure, check our Excessive Postage & Handling Policy. You can check the actual cost of posting your item directly from Australia Post.
