Creating a postage label

To create a single postage label in My eBay:
  1. Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.

  2. Click the Sold link on the left side of the page in the Sell section.

  3. Find the item you want to post, and then select the Print postage label link from the More actions drop-down menu.

  4. Confirm that your address and the buyer's address on the postage label are correct.

    • Item details and other information may be completed for you based on your listing and the registration information for you and your buyer.

  5. If you chose a qualifying service when you listed, this will be pre-selected for you. Otherwise, select your preferred postage service from the Service drop-down menu.

  6. If needed, enter your package details, including package type, weight, and dimensions.

  7. Select any additional services that you want to add. (Fees may apply.)

  8. Click the button to create your label.

  9. Follow the steps to print your label.

  10. Get your package ready to go then drop it off at an Australia Post retail outlet or street box.

Tips:
  • You can use your own packaging, or buy eBay Australia Post flat rate satchels or boxes from Australia Post's eBay Store.

  • Make sure you don't cover up any part of the barcode when you tape the postage label on.

Managing your labels in My eBay

From the Manage postage labels section of My eBay you can manage labels you've already printed.

From this section you can track your packages, see details about them, reprint labels, cancel labels, print additional labels where your transaction posts in multiple packages, or print a packing slip.

To manage your postage labels in My eBay:
  1. Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may be asked to sign in.

  2. Click the Manage postage labels link on the left side of the page in the Sell section.

Note: The Manage postage labels link also appears in Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro.

  3. You can reprint a damaged label, cancel an unused label, create additional labels for multi-parcel transactions, or print a packing slip by selecting the option next to the label.

  • If your label doesn't print correctly or you have trouble printing, you can reprint your label (at no extra cost) within the first 24 hours after you created the label.

  • Under the Manage postage labels section of My eBay, select the Reprint option.

Note: Don't use this option to print multiple labels for several packages in the same shipment. Instead, use the Print another postage label option.
  • If you're posting an order in multiple packages (for example, a lamp base in one box and the lampshade in another), you can create and print additional labels for the same order.

  • Under the Manage postage labels section of My eBay, select the Print another postage label option.

  • You'll be able to change the postage service, and the charge for the additional label will be added to your eBay monthly invoice.

Note: If you only need one label but it didn't print correctly, you can reprint it within 24 hours. Don't use the Print another postage label option as you'll be charged a second time.
  • If you haven't used a postage label, you can cancel it within 5 days of creating and printing the label.

  • Under the Manage postage labels section of My eBay, select the Cancel postage label option.

  • If your cancellation request is approved, you'll receive a credit for postage and related charges within 25 days. The credit will be shown on your Seller Account, and on the following eBay monthly invoice.

Note:
  • If the label didn't print correctly, you don't need to cancel it - you can reprint it within 24 hours.

  • You may not use a label after it's been cancelled, or cancel a label after you've dropped the package off.

  • A packing slip is a receipt summarising your sale on eBay.

  • To print a packing slip choose the Print packing slip option from the Manage postage labels section. If you haven't yet printed a postage label you can print the order details for the item instead.

To print order details:
  1. Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may be asked to sign in.

  2. Click Sold on the left side of the page in the Sell section.

  3. Find the item you want to print a packing slip for and click the View order details link next to the item.

Note: You may need to click the More actions drop-down menu to find the View order details option.

  4. On the Order details page, click the Printer version link on the top right side of the page.

  5. Print the page.

Dropping off your package

Once you've printed your postage label and prepared your package, drop it off at an Australia Post retail outlet or in a street posting box near you. (If you want to get a lodgement receipt, drop off your package at the counter.)
