If you select calculated postage costs in the Sell Your Item form, postage costs are automaticallycalculated for your buyer based on their postcode.
To get an idea of the shipping costs for various services and locations using eBay’s Postage Calculation, you can go to eBay Postage Centre and click on the “Postage Calculator” link.
Step 1: Select calculated postage by specifying the
following:
Weight of the item. Select the total weight of the item, box, and any packing materials. To enter the weight in pounds and ounces, select “Custom.”
Package Size. Select a package size. Learn more about package sizes.
Irregular. If your item is an irregular size select the box. Learn more about irregular packages.
Domestic postal services. Learn more about postage services. To see how postage services calculate postage cost, see:
International postage service. You can offer to send your item to up to 3 international locations and specify a postal service for each location.
Seller postcode. Enter the postcode your item is being sent from.
Handling cost . To add a handling cost to the total postage costs, enter an amount in the Handling cost field. This amount is not displayed to buyers.
Insurance. Insurance or Loss/Damage Protection is calculated automatically based on the item price.
Step 2: Postage costs are automatically calculated for the buyer
When you use calculated postage, a calculator displays to your buyers in the "Postage and Payment Details" area of your listing.
When buyers enter a postcode or selects a country, the postage calculator automatically determines the postage costs. Only the postal service you selected displays. Any handling costs are included in the postage cost -- they are not shown to buyers.
Step 3:
Buyer purchases the item
When the buyer pays for the item, postage costs are calculated automatically based on the buyer’s postcode. If you’ve specified multiple postal services, the buyer can select from the list of services you offer.
