There are two selling formats to choose from on eBay Australia; the traditional auction style format and the fixed price format. Please see an explanation below of how fees are calculated for these different formats.

Auction Style Format

Buy It Now Format

Setting a Reserve Price
Reserve price is only an option in select vehicle categories. Some people choose to also use a reserve price. Research conducted by eBay indicates that using the reserve price feature can be detrimental to the performance of your listings. Instead of setting a hidden reserve price, try using the starting price of your item as your reserve price. This way, you'll still receive the minimum you are prepared to accept and the eBay market place will determine the worth of the item.

If you do decide to use the Reserve Price option you will be subject to a Reserve Price Auction Fee. Please see the table below for a list of these additional fees. This fee is fully refunded if the item sells, if your item does not sell, this fee is not refunded.

Additional Reserve Price Auction Fee

All vehicles (Cars, Collector Cars, Boats, Motorcycles and Other vehicles) have an AU$10.00 reserve price auction fee.

When your listing ends, you will be charged a Final Value Fee based on the sale price (final value)
of your item. See the table below for the list of fees.

How does this work?
Single Item Listings Example:
An item sells for AU $1,200. The Final Value Fee charged will be $32.38 this was calculated as follows:

• 5.25% of first AU $75.00 ($3.94) +
• 2.75% of next AU $75.01 - AU $1,000 ($25.44) +
• 1.5% of remaining amount above AU $1,000 ($3.00)

NOTE: Final Value Fees are the same for Single Auction style and Buy It Now items,
except Vehicles and Real Estate categories as shown above.

Multiple Item Listing Example
The final value is the lowest successful bid or the Buy It Now price. To calculate the Final Value Fee
for your Multiple Item listing, calculate theFinal Value fee for a single item, and multiply by the number
of items sold during your listing.
Example: 4 identical items sell and the lowest successful bid prices is AU $1,200.
The final value fees will be charged as follows:

• 5.25% of first AU $75.00 + ($3.94)
• 2.75% of next AU $75.01 - AU $1,000 + ($25.44)
• 1.5% of remaining amount above AU $1,000 ($3.00)
• subtotal = AU $32.38
• and then times the total by 4
• TOTAL = AU $129.52

You will NOT be charged a Final Value Fee if:

• There were no bids on your item
• There were no bids at or above the reserve price on your Reserve Price Auctions that met the reserve.
• The item was listed in the Real Estate category.

Please note that these fees are non-refundable and must be paid whether the item sells or not.

When you register with eBay and you plan on listing items for sale you have three ways to pay:

		Paying Your eBay Fees

Direct Debit: This option is the easiest and most convenient to make payments on your eBay account. With the Direct Debit payment option, eBay will automatically deduct your eBay invoice amount directly from your bank account. Simply provide eBay with your bank account number and BSB number and eBay will automatically debit your bank account for your monthly invoice amount. Once you have signed up for Direct Debit your bank account will be deducted 7 to 10 days after receipt of your invoice. This option is only available to users billed in AUD with Australian bank accounts. To sign up for eBay Direct Debit or to update your current bank account information, just complete this safe and easy form. Credit or Debit Card on File: You can place your credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card on your eBay account for regular monthly payment. This allows unlimited access to list items as long as eBay is able to authorise your card for each month's payment amount. Pay-As-You Go: This option allows you to pay your monthly invoice by cheque or money order or to request a one-time credit or debit card payment. Without a credit or debit card on file for automatic monthly billing, you will be prevented from listing additional items whenever you owe more than AU $40.00. Once your account balance reaches AU $40.00, your account will be blocked until payment is made or a credit or debit card is placed on file for regular monthly payment. If you anticipate your monthly activity to exceed AU$40.00 and you wish not to place a credit or debit card on file, it is recommended that you pre-pay your account accordingly to ensure uninterrupted service. eBay requires payment in full each month on accounts with balance of AU$1.00 or more. To place your credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card on your eBay account, just complete this safe and easy form. Then your credit or debit card will be charged monthly for the previous month's invoice amount. Now that's convenience! Placing your credit or debit card on file is a secure and fast way to pay your eBay fees. Go to our Credit Card Information page to find out more about the security of using credit cards online. If you'd rather not place your credit or debit card on your eBay account, you can always pay eBay with a cheque and money order, or make a one-time credit card payment. Just be sure to include an eBay payment form to ensure that your payment is accurately applied to your account. Your payment will normally be posted to your eBay account within 7 - 10 business days. Please do not send cash payments to eBay. Invoicing Procedures and Payments At the time of registration your account is automatically assigned a billing cycle. This billing cycle pre-determines your invoicing date as well as your payment due date. This date is referred to as your Billing Cycle Date and is clearly displayed at the top of your account status page. This date will also appear on your invoice as your Invoice Date. Please check your account status to verify your Billing Cycle Date. You will normally be invoiced within five days of your Billing Cycle Date via email. This invoice will include your previous month's account activity as well as any overdue amounts. In the event you do not receive an invoice, you are still responsible for your payment. Please check your account status for your current account balance. eBay Billing Cycles

eBay requires payment in full each month on accounts with balances of AU$1.00 or greater. You will be billed a monthly finance charge of 1.5% or the highest amount permitted by applicable law - whichever is lower - if your account becomes overdue. Your account may be suspended for non-payment, and you may be responsible for collection costs. Members with a credit or debit card on file for automatic monthly billing will normally have their credit or debit card charged 7 to 10 days after receipt of their invoice. Members making payment by cheque or money order must submit payment by their payment due date which is either - the 15th of the month - or - the last day of the month - as stated in the chart above. To verify your Billing Cycle Date please review your account status. Your Billing Cycle Date is displayed in the top section of your account status page as well as on your monthly invoice. Suspension of eBay Account In the event your seller account is suspended for any reason, any amounts due on your Seller account shall immediately become due and payable. eBay reserves the right to immediately charge any amounts you have not previously disputed through the billing method currently on file. eBay Account Refund Request eBay will gladly issue you a refund for an account credit balance over $1.00.
