Customising Your Results Page

You can customise the information that displays in your search and browse results so that you can view just the information you want to see in the order and format in which you want to see it. For example, in your search and browse results display, you can:

  • Show or hide columns: You can show or hide columns. Note: You cannot hide the Title column.

  • Rearrange the column order: You can change the order in which the columns are displayed on the page.

  • Show or hide comparison check boxes: You can show or hide the check boxes for comparing items.

  • Show the item title on its own row: You can show the item title on a row by itself. This option is helpful for viewing more information on the screen at one time.

  • Convert prices to AU $: You can convert to AU $ and show in italics any prices that are not entered in AU $ in the original listing.

  • Show feedback information: You can show the seller’s feedback rating under the item title.

  • Display a certain number of results per page: You can choose the number of results you want to show per page.

  • Show the time in a particular format: You can show the time in the Time column in a particular format. Note: This option does not apply in circumstances when the Time column displays the time a listing started.

  • Show the results in a particular format: You can show the results in picture gallery format or list format.

  • Show the results in a particular sort order: You can sort the results by time, price, distance, or country/region.

Note: Certain actions will cause additional information to temporarily appear even if you chose to unselect that information type in your "Customise display" settings. For example, if you sort your items list by Distance, the Location Distance information will automatically appear for the duration of the sort even if it is not one of the information types you chose to display ongoing through your "Customise display" settings.

To customise your results page:

  1. Search or browse for an item.

  2. From your search or browse results, click the “Customise Display” link located above the items list.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • To show a column in your display, from the Available Columns list, select the column you want to show, and click the right arrow to move it to the Columns to Display list.

    • To hide a column in your display, from the Columns to Display list, select the column you want to hide, and click the left arrow to move it to the Available Columns list.

      Note: You cannot hide the Title column.

    • To change the order of a column, from the Columns to Display list, select the column you want to reorder, and click the up arrow or the down arrow .

    • To show comparison check boxes, select the Show comparison check boxes check box.

    • To see items with the title on a separate row, select the Item title on its own row check box. To see a preview of how the items will appear, click the see example link.

    • To convert to AU $ and show in italics any prices that are not entered in AU $ in the original listing, select the Convert prices to AU $ check box.

    • To display the feedback information, select the Display feedback information check box.

    • To choose the number of results displayed per page, from the Results per page list, choose a number.

      Note: This option only applies to the List view, and it does not apply to eBay Motors.

    • To show the time as the time left until a listing ends, under Show time in:, choose the Time left format option. To show the time in date format, choose the Time format option.

    • To show the results in picture gallery format, under Show results in:, choose the Picture Gallery option. To show results in a list view, choose the List view option.

    • To choose sorting options, from the Search Sort by list, select an option. If you select Time: Newly listed sort, select the Show Time Listed for newly listed sort: check box to display each listing's starting time. To always show the ending time or time left in the Time column (according to your Show time in setting), clear the check box.

  4. Click the Save button.

    Note: If, at any time, you want to restore eBay’s default display settings, you can click the Restore Defaults link.
