  How do I get Reinstated?
Your eBay account registration will be considered for reinstatement once you have completed the following steps. Please read the registration procedures thoroughly before sending any information to eBay.

Step 1
First, reread eBay's policies and guidelines on, prohibited, questionable, and infringing items
and our listing policies.

You also need to reread and agree again to our User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions concerning these policies and guidelines, contact Community Watch for more detailed explanations of our policies. Please make sure to contact us with any questions prior to listing any items, as any future violations may result in the indefinite suspension of your eBay account.

When you have finished reading our policies, please proceed to Step 2.

Step 2
Next, you will need to complete and send a request for reinstatement to eBay. The request will, among other things, require you to provide eBay with a sworn statement that you will not knowingly list any items on eBay that infringe the rights of any third parties, or are otherwise illegal. You can print a copy of eBay's request for reinstatement here.

Once you have filled out the request for reinstatement, you can fax this form to eBay at
(02) 9475 0354.

If you are not able to fax this request to us, you may mail it to us at:

Attn: Community Watch
eBay
Locked Bag 10
Australia Square Post Office
Sydney NSW 1215

Before faxing or mailing the request for reinstatement to eBay, please read Step 3.

Step 3
Once you have read the information in Step 1, and completed the request for reinstatement in Step 2, you will then need to provide eBay with some proof that your registration information is valid before your account is reinstated.

The easiest way to do this is to include with your request for reinstatement any document listed in Group One AND any document listed in Group Two. Remember to write your user ID and contact number on the fax so we may identify your account.

Group One - Evidence of Name

  • Copy of a current full Australian Driving Licence (any state)
  • Copy of a current Proof of Age Card
  • Copy of a current Medicare Card
  • Copy of a current signed passport including photograph
  • Copy of a current Defense Force Identification
  • Copy of Notice of Assessment issued by the Australian Taxation Office
Group Two - Evidence of Address
  • Recent copy of a Utility bill or a certificate from a supplier of utilities confirming the arrangement to pay for services on pre-payments terms. Mobile phone bills are not acceptable.
  • Copy of Local Council rates bill (valid for the current year)
  • Copy of a current full Australian Driving Licence (if not used for evidence of name)
  • The most recent copy of a mortgage statement from a recognised lender
The personal information on a billing statement or ID must be valid and legible or we will not be able to reinstate the account.

You must also include a valid telephone number with these details to be considered for reinstatement.

Please note that any documents (a copy of your ID, utility bill, phone bill, etc.) provided to eBay will be destroyed after your registration information has been verified.

For security reasons we cannot open attachments sent to us. Therefore, please either fax or post this information to us.

You can fax this information to eBay at (02) 9475 0354.

If you are not able to fax this request to us, you may mail it to us at:

Attn: Investigations Appeals
eBay Australia
Locked Bag 10
Australia Square PO
Sydney NSW 1215

Please ensure you include your User ID on any documentation sent to us.

Please note that any documents (a copy of a utility bill, phone bill, or any government issued ID, etc.) provided to eBay under Step 3 of the reinstatement process will be destroyed after your registration information has been verified.

Please contact Customer Support if you have any questions on this process.

Why is my eBay account suspended?
When your account was suspended you were sent an email that contained information regarding the reason your account was suspended and links to the relevant eBay polices.

Can I use eBay while my account is suspended?
While your account is suspended, you will be unable to use eBay in any way. This includes bidding, selling, and leaving feedback. If and when your account is reinstated, you will be able leave feedback for transactions you completed within the 30 days prior to the reinstatement of your account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Members who are suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts with eBay, or bidding or selling on eBay using any existing accounts. eBay reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended member or by any other associates of a suspended member.

How do I pay my bill?
You can make a one-time payment to eBay to pay off the amount due on your account. To do this, visit the link below:

  • eBay reserves the right to recover costs of collection.
  • To preserve your rights, all billing inquiries should be made in writing.
  • Fees and policies are subject to change without notice.

I can't access My eBay. How do I notify/remind my bidders?
While your account is suspended, you will be unable to log into your "My eBay" page. You will be able to contact bidders if and when your account is reinstated.

How do I know if my account has been suspended?
When eBay suspends an account, eBay sends a notice of suspension via email to your registered email address identifying the reasons for your suspension and indicating that you can follow the procedures above to be considered for reinstatement. When you attempt to login or access My eBay, you will receive the message, " Registration blocked - Users whose registered status is blocked must resolve any outstanding complaints on file before proceeding. Please resolve these issues and try again".

Do you have phone support?
We currently do not have phone support capabilities. If you have any questions regarding your suspended account that are not answered here, please write to Customer Support from the email address registered on your account.
