How do I mark my item as paid or sent?
You can track the status of items you are buying and selling and update the status under the More actions column in My eBay.
Marking an item as paid
If you paid for an item and My eBay is still showing it needs to be paid, you can manually mark the item as paid for your own records. Marking your item as paid does not notify the seller. Regardless of what the status shows in My eBay, as long as your seller acknowledges receiving payment, your part of the transaction is complete.
To mark an item as paid:
Go to My eBay > Purchase history and find the item you want to mark as paid.
From the More actions drop-down, select Mark as payment sent. The $ icon changes colour, so you can quickly see that payment is complete for this item.
Note: If you pay for your item online using eBay checkout, or the seller marks the item as Payment received on their My eBay page, the payment status in your Purchase history will be automatically updated to display as Payment sent. However, if you paid using another payment method, and you manually mark the item as Payment sent, the seller is not automatically notified.
Marking an item as sent
If you sent an item to a buyer and My eBay is still showing it needs to be sent, you can manually mark the item as sent for your own records. Marking your item as sent does not notify the buyer.
To mark an item as sent:
Go to My eBay > Sold and find the item you want to mark as sent.
From the More actions drop-down, select Mark as sent. The icon changes colour, so you can quickly see that the item has been sent.
Note: You can also send an invoice, relist an item, buy and print postage and upload tracking from the More actions menu.
