I didn't receive an item I paid for. Does eBay offer insurance?
If you don’t receive the item you bought or it's significantly not as described in the listing, we recommend that you first contact the seller to try and resolve the problem. If you're unable to resolve the problem with the seller, open an Item Not Received or a Significantly Not As Described Dispute.
PayPal Protection on eBay.com.au
Most items paid for with PayPal on eBay.com.au will be eligible for up to AU$20,000 PayPal Buyer Protection in the event that you don't receive your item or it is significantly not as described. Conditions apply.
If you purchased an item from another eBay site that also offers a buyer protection policy, please refer to the policy on that country's site.
What to do if your item is not eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection
There are a small number of excluded categories that are not covered by PayPal Buyer Protection.
If you don't receive the item you paid for and you can’t resolve the matter directly with the seller, you can report to the seller to the eBay Trust and Safety team. The team will investigate and, if warranted, the seller’s account may be restricted or suspended.
In addition, you may wish to report the seller to the police. eBay will fully cooperate with the police investigation. Please ask the investigating officer to email us by using the "report information to eBay" link on the Understanding eBay's Role help page.
