Choose with confidence

Services are offered through the Auction, Buy It Now (BIN) or Classifieds format. So you can bid for the service (Auction), buy the service instantly (BIN) or contact the provider by email/phone to negotiate directly (Classifieds).

Note that Feedback and buyer protection are not available for the Classifieds format.

Checklist for buying Services on eBay

• Check credentials – Check if the Service you are considering requires the provider to have a specific accreditation or licence. If so, ask the provider to supply their licence details and cross check these with the appropriate accreditation body

• Make contact – Learn all you can about the service and ask the provider for any information they have not included. Make sure you ask any questions necessary to get to know your provider and their service.

• Feedback – Check the provider's feedback ratings, past transactions and reviews. If they have bought and sold on eBay before, you'll be able to read about their previous transactions and see what other members have said about them. To read Feedback comments, click on the number in brackets after the User ID.

• Price – Decide how much you’re willing to pay for the service. To see what a service is worth, look at similar listings and cross check what other services are being offered.

• Terms – Check the terms of the transaction, how and when the seller wants you to pay; and be sure you have agreements in place before work begins
