Understanding Your eBay Invoice

Your invoice is a statement of your seller's account activity for a one-month period. Invoices show the following:

  • A summary of all fees and payments

  • The automatic payment type that will be used or payment instructions

  • Links to helpful information

  • Detail of credits, payments, and fees applied to your account during the invoice cycle

Note: Due to the time it takes to process charges and payments, there may be slight differences between the invoice amount shown and the amount you are charged.

Viewing Your Invoice

eBay sends you a notification email when your invoice is ready to view online. This email is sent to the email address associated with your account.

To view your current invoice:

  1. Go to My eBay.

  2. Click the “My Accounts” link in My eBay.

  3. Click the "View invoices" link in the “My Seller Account Summary” section.

  4. Select the most recent invoice.

Your invoices are available online for 18 months. If you want to keep a copy of an invoice, you can print it or download it. You can also download the last four months of your invoice data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or any application that supports CSV files.

Note: eBay will usually only create and send you an invoice notification if your account balance is greater than $1.00 during the billing period. To see your account activity and balance when it is less than $1.00, go to your “My Account” page.

Amount Due
eBay requires payment in full each month on accounts with balances of $1.00 or more.

For information on payment requirements, late fees, and payment schedules, see Your Payment Due Date.

Differences between invoice and charged amount
Sometimes, there can be a slight difference between the amount shown on your invoice (the amount you owe eBay) and the amount that is charged to your payment method on file.

This is because there is a lapse of a few days between the time your invoice is calculated and the time the payment is processed. During this time eBay applies recent credits to your account, such as payments, item-based credits, etc. However, during this lapse of time, we do not include any new charges. New charges are considered as part of the next billing cycle. In some cases, if your account has a credit balance when the invoice was calculated, the amount debited from your payment method account could be less than your invoice.

Example:

Your invoice created on January 1st shows an amount due of $25.60.
On January 2, you made a one-time payment of $5.00.
On January 3, you received Final Value Fee credits for three items totaling $2.50.
On January 5th, when your bank account is automatically debited, you are debited $25.60 minus $5.00, minus $2.50, equaling a total debit of $18.10.

Downloading Your Invoice or Account Activity

Download your invoice or account activity data into a CSV file that can be used with Microsoft Excel and most common spreadsheet and database applications. The download will contain detailed information about your transactions, including the line item fees associated with each transaction. Use this information to review your fees paid or perform other financial analyses.

To download your invoice:

  2. Click the “My Account” link on the left navigation menu.

  3. Click the “View invoices” link and select an invoice to view.

Note: If your invoice is too large to download immediately, you may be asked to generate an invoice. You’ll be notified when it is ready to download.

  5. Save the file or open it using your preferred application.
