User Agreement and Privacy Policy

You'll need to accept the terms outlined in the User Agreement and Privacy Policy in order to buy and sell on eBay. Here is some background:

  • Why is there a User Agreement? The User Agreement is a legal document that spells out the relationship between you and eBay. It outlines the services, pricing, Privacy Policy, and the buyer and seller relationship for listing, bidding, and buying on items on eBay.
  • You need to be at least 18 years old because eBay is available only to individuals who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. If you are not over 18, you can use eBay only in conjunction with your parents or guardians.
  • You may decide how you'd like to be contacted by eBay by going to the "My Preferences" page in My eBay. For example, you can elect to receive notifications when you are outbid.
  • Our core privacy principles
Our core privacy principles remain the same throughout eBay worldwide:
    • We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
    • We do not give your personally identifiable information to advertisers.
    • We let you select how you may be contacted by us when you join our community.
    • We use safe, secure encryption technology to protect your personally identifiable information.
    • We have no tolerance for spam (unsolicited, commercial email).
