Turbo Lister FAQs
What is eBay Turbo Lister?
Turbo Lister is one of eBay's selling tools, allowing you to create listings on your desk top before sending them to the eBay site. As a seller, Turbo Lister will help you list items on eBay quicker and easier and save you money in internet connection fees.

What is a Selling tool?
Selling tools are software products that help sellers perform various tasks related to selling items such as listing. They can save you lots of time. eBay currently offers three selling tools: Turbo Lister, Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro.
How do I get the Turbo Lister product?
Turbo Lister is available for download from the eBay website by visiting: http://pages.ebay.com.au/turbo_lister/download.html.
What operating systems does Turbo Lister support?
Turbo Lister supports Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP operating systems. The product does not currently support Macintosh operating systems.
How much does it cost to use Turbo Lister?
Turbo Lister is free to use! However, as a seller you are still responsible for all fees normally associated with listing your item for sale on eBay. These include insertion, final value, and optional feature fees. The optional listing scheduling feature supported by Turbo Lister also has a fee associated with it. To learn more about listing scheduling, click here. For more information about eBay fees, visit this page: http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sellerguide/selling-fees.html
As a seller, why should I use Turbo Lister?
Turbo Lister helps you create listings in bulk to post on eBay quickly and easily. It allows you to do the following:
  • Save listing details for items that you sell to easily list them again later
  • Save default values for all Sell Your Item options, to cut down on data entry time
  • Duplicate items, to easily create listings for similar items
  • Easily create attractive item descriptions using a WYSIWIG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) HTML editor
  • Schedule your listings to start at a specified time in future
  • And more...!
If I use eBay Turbo Lister, do I have to use PayPal or Checkout?
No, using the Turbo Lister product does not require you to use any feature that eBay offers, though it will support both PayPal and Checkout. Using Turbo Lister offers you the same flexibility for choosing your own payment and buyer communication processes as you would listing your item using the Sell Your Item form on the eBay Web site.
Can I use eBay Turbo Lister and write my own HTML?
Yes. Although eBay Turbo Lister offers attractive predefined templates and WYSIWYG editing for your item descriptions, you can still write your own HTML if you like. (You just select the "None" template and write your HTML code in the input box on the "HTML View" when you write your description.)
How can I get help for Turbo Lister?
If you're looking for a quick answer to a question or problem you have, you should first check the Turbo Lister Discussion Board where eBay users and staff moderators help answer questions and solve problems together.

If you can't find a solution on the Discussion Board, please send us a description of your problem along with your Turbo Lister log files.

You can find the log files in the Turbo Lister directory on your hard drive at:
C:\Program Files\eBay\Turbo Lister\

Find the log files in the Turbo Lister directory. The log files are those files that have the extension ".log" after their file names -- ie "tl.log". (There may be several backup versions as well.) Next, copy the contents of the log files, and paste into the Customer Support web form.
How does the Turbo Lister beta test program work?
The Turbo Lister Beta Program is valuable because "real world" users will find bugs that in the development environment were difficult or impossible to find. Ultimately, beta testing helps eBay develop better software and creates a way for the community to contribute directly to Turbo Lister improvements. eBay will release official versions of Turbo Lister when beta user feedback reaches a consensus that the version is stable and ready for the community.
What is "beta" software?
A software product is in its "beta" stage of development when the software is ready to be released to the public for further testing, but not yet ready for commercial release.
What is the Turbo Lister Beta Program?
Recommended for experienced Turbo Lister users, eBay offers the Turbo Lister Beta Program to enlist the help of users in refining Turbo Lister in the final stages of each release. Turbo Lister beta software is released to the public so people can try out new features, make comments, and report problems.
Who should join the program?
Everyone is welcome to join in the Beta Program, but eBay recommends that primarily experienced users will get the most benefit from using Turbo Lister beta software. People who are interested in the program should keep in mind that the beta versions probably aren't free of bugs and won't be fully supported.
How does the beta program work?
You can join the Turbo Lister Beta Program from within the Turbo Lister application. To join the beta program, go to the "Tools" menu. Select "Option" and then "Join Beta Program."
How do beta versions get updated?
Once you've joined the beta program, when Turbo Lister automatically looks for updates it will tell you if beta versions are available. You can tell if you're using a beta version because it will say "Turbo Lister (beta version)" in the application title bar.
How does communication work with eBay about Turbo Lister Beta versions?
To report problems or submit comments to eBay, beta testers can contact the eBay support team using the contact form at http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/contact_inline/index.html. If you report finding a bug or you make a comment about the beta software, you should explicitly write at the top of your submission that you're using beta software. Beta users can exchange ideas with other users on the discussion boards. When necessary, eBay will publish updates to the beta software that resolves bugs reported by beta program users. After the beta test period, eBay will distribute the finished product to all users.
