 Employee Involvement
eBay Foundation supports and encourages philanthropy and volunteerism of eBay employees. The Foundation's eBay Community Action Network (eBay CAN!) programs are designed to promote employee involvement with non-profit organizations by providing grants linked to employee contributions of cash or time. Through the Foundation's matching gifts program, qualifying employee donations are matched up to $500 a year. Grants of up to $500 are also made to non-profit organizations where employees volunteer their time. Grants ranging from $500 - $5,000 are made to groups where teams of eBay employees serve as volunteers.

Founded in 2003, the eBay Foundation Champion A Charity program provides employees with the opportunity to recommend, or "champion," a non-profit organization for Foundation funding. Employees work with their favorite charity to prepare the funding request, which is reviewed by a committee comprised of employees. Champion A Charity grants of $2,500 are awarded twice a year.
